Thani Oruvan is a action packed thriller tamil movie and is different from the normal genres of this category. Director M.Raja who is famous for his direction in remaking scripts to tamil and was stamped that he is only capable of remake hits. But Thani Oruvan has turned this upside down the way scripting is done and the characters are portrayed surely Raja deserves a pat. Direction plays a vital role in moving the story by keeping interesting things which is also understandable for a common man rather using hi-fi technologies.
Jayam Ravi has average hits in recent times after his comeback and this is another milestone in his career acting as a cop with such a script. Not the regular heroism but he has done his job well for this solid storyline.
Arvind Swamy, What a comeback for him and the most praised role in this movie but personally I believe Jayam Ravi also has equally played his role. As a Cool Villain Arvind Swamy is so stylish and doesn't show much difference to his age with previous movies which released long back. Movie itself begins with Arvind's Birth rewinding few years back and then only in the later portion we get to see the original Arvind Swamy.
Nayan doesn't have much to do not even as a glamorous heroine but yes she also has a meaty role in playing key portion of the scene by changing the attitude of the hero as how he was and how he has changed the strong dialogues requires lauded applause in those scenes.
Less Songs, limited fight scenes only when required and unnecessary comedy scenes are not there in the movie so if you are expecting a masala commercial cinema please do not watch it.
Movie and the reviews I read/heard before I saw the movie created much hype though but didnt meet as expected but it did fulfill all the qualities of a good movie.
My Rating - 3.75/5
Reviews are personal and so the rating.....
