Wireless charging, also known as inductive charging, is fast becoming one of the most sought after capabilities in today’s modern, mobile-computing world. The capacity to pack your smartphone or tablet with power, without having to plug anything in, can make things much easier in areas where conventional charging methods are unavailable.

In order to help you sift through the chaff to find the wheat, we have compiled a list of the top names in wireless charging currently available. The most important things to look at when selecting a wireless charging device are which devices it is compatible with and what individual specs it carries. In these areas, one or more of the following devices should have exactly what you need.

Powermat 3X

At the time of this writing, no other wireless charging device even comes close to the performance and capability exhibited by the Powermat 3X. Chief among the reasons for this is the sheer number of different devices it can handle, including the capacity to charge three devices simultaneously. Add in a very durable construction and an easy setup process, and you have a device perfect for just about any wireless-charging needs.

Duracell myGrid

If you needs range more towards a simple solution designed to charge a single mobile device via a wireless connection, the myGrid from Duracell will probably fit the bill nicely. The myGrid does not actually use induction technology, substituting it with basic conductive technology instead. This means that your device must keep the points attached to your mobile device via a sleeve or clip in contact with the myGrid’s electrified surface in order for charging to take place.

Energizer Inductive Charger

Owning either a Blackberry Curve 8900 or an iPhone 3G/3GS is the only way you will be able to gain access to the charging power of the Energizer Inductive Charger. While no other mobile or stationary devices can be used with it, its inductive-charging capacity, and ability to charge three devices simultaneously make it a perfect choice for those who do own them.
